17&34

December 14 -January 13, 2013

This post is pretty much just Christmas. Enjoy!
Christmas eve at Uncle Chris and Aunt Amie's.
Eating dinner on the floor Jesus style.

Christmas Morning!!
Our exciting "Pre-Christmas" Christmas morning story:
Kids went to be later than normal so I was hoping they would sleep in a little...
Lil Blake woke up at 730 (not sleeping in).  I quickly got him as to not wake Elsa up. We went into the kitchen and I was going to start breakfast. Opened the pantry and my stomach turns into knots as I see this little grey blur scurry into some bags hanging on the wall. I grab the broom and conjuring all the strength I have to get ready to whack that little guy to his Maker.  I slowly move the bags and he drops onto the floor... I scream! He scurries behind the fridge. Daddy Blake runs out (with groggy Elsa waddling behind him). We knew his next move was to go underneath the oven and disappear for the day (yea we've known this guy has been hanging out at our place). We set up an obstacle course of mouse traps. Move the fridge just enough to scare him out. He jumps over and through the first two traps but could not get enough speed to conquer the third. SNAP! WOHOOO!! Out to the freezing trash can getting snowed on he goes!!
Everyone is awake... let's start CHRISTMAS!!

Elsa and her surprise face!
Blake and his surprise/excited face!

Even though he has lived off these for the last two months he was super excited to get an orange in his stocking... along with all the other goodies!

Bagels, cream cheese and lil smokies for breakfast!

Presents!!
Blake's Presents!!
Thank goodness for the DI! Made our Christmas affordable and fun!

A sweet book from  Grandma and Grandpa Thackeray! Thanks!

Elsa's gifts!

Most of Elsa's presents were for baby sister. Diapers, wipes, headbands, bibs, jammies, pants, dresses... all baby sisters clothes where made out of old baby clothes we were getting rid of or mommies clothes we were also getting rid of. An awesome present for $0...SCORE!

Daddy made this for one for his class last semester... also doubled as a Christmas present!
Socks From Grandma Thackeray!! The only kind of socks she'll wear now!
Grandma certainly set the bar for presents... Elsa now asks "who made" everything!
Jerky was gone by the end of the day! YUM

And after the Christmas presents got played with...

Traditional Christmas Chinese dinner!
Grandma Susan, Grandpa Wayne, Nic, Luc, Dalin, and Kris were there!

We got to talk to Uncle Evan serving a mission in Taiwan!
Then we stopped by Temple Square to see the lights!! It was freezing but fun!

She still talks about Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus in the water.

 Done!

Another favorite gift by a Grandma... Grandma Susan (and Grandpa Wayne) got Elsa a tutu and ballet slippers.

Christmas gift from Mother nature!

Kids copy EVERYTHING!!

You know this is how you feel when you get a rub down!

New announcement:
Jingle bells Jingle bells Jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to say a BOY is on the way!!!
Due May 28, 2013

Insight from a two year old:
"Jesus is coming and then we can play in the garden like Adam and Eve!"

Fun story:
One day Elsa and Blake found my sparkles... when daddy Blake was washing them up because they had dumped them all over themselves, Elsa says "I was just trying to make Baby Blake fly!" Thank you "Peter and Pan" (as Elsa says) for giving us happy thoughts!
